Chirpy pricing
Chirpy costs $19.99 USD as a one-time purchase. You get a lifetime license for the macOS app with all future updates included, no subscription and no recurring fees. Before you pay anything there is a free 3-day trial that does not require a credit card, and every purchase is covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Chirpy plays a different notification sound for every Slack channel, contact, or Mac app, so you know what happened without looking.

#prod-*. - 72+ built-in sounds, plus your own uploads in .mp3, .wav, and .caf.
- Per-rule volume control and sound preview before you assign it.

What do you not pay for?
There are no per-seat monthly fees, no feature tiers, no "pro" edition, and no paid major-version upgrades. Chirpy has one price and one version, and everyone gets the same app.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The 3-day trial is the full app with every feature unlocked and no credit card required. Download it, build a few rules, and see whether you can tell a Slack DM from a deploy alert without looking at the screen. If you can, buy it; if not, delete it. Download Chirpy to start the trial.
Is the license per Mac or per person?
Per person. One license covers the Macs you personally use (a work laptop and a home desktop, for instance). If you are buying for a team, buy one license per person.
How does licensing and payment work?
Gumroad is the reseller and merchant of record. Checkout, license keys, receipts, and VAT handling all happen through Gumroad, so your card details never reach us. After purchase you get a license key by email and paste it into Chirpy's settings to unlock the app.
Do I have to pay for updates?
No. Updates are free forever. The current release is version 3.0.1 (29 June 2026), and every version after it is included in your original purchase.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 30 days. Email [email protected] and we will refund you in full through Gumroad, no interrogation. Statutory consumer rights in the EU, UK, and elsewhere apply on top of this guarantee.
Why isn't Chirpy on the Mac App Store?
Chirpy reads notification text through the macOS Accessibility API, which is how it can react to notifications from apps it does not control. That approach is incompatible with Mac App Store sandboxing, so Chirpy is distributed directly from chirpy.pro. The app is notarized by Apple, and Gumroad handles licensing.
